We've had a couple of great morning lights/mists here in Cumbria over the past few days. Thought I'd share.

Squashed to hell for a reasonable d/load.

Hi Ian - nice pic!

If you're near Loweswater next week, send us a mail and I'll buy you a pint at the Kirkstile.

Lets not beat around the bush; those pictures are realy very very good. The master of landscape. I was wondering when we might see some more of your work but it was worth the wait.

Thanks for the very kind words peeps. As you know it's 90% right place, right time, and I have to recommend the western lakes for the right place.

Getting up at 7.00 on a Sunday morning in October and climbing a hill on the off-chance that the sun will come out is probably more daft than talent.

...but when the sun comes out and you're on your own up there the photos are the least of it.

I love the lakes, seeing those images reminded me of my DofE award days. Camping out in the open, Red tarn at the base of Hellvellyn, hiking around Glenridding to another tarn (name I cannot remember) carrying everything in a rucksack. Great times, will go back with my kids when they are old enough.
