I've heard that Alfa Romeo Spider will be launched in 2015 according to this website:

"New details are emerging about the Alfa Romeo Spider reboot which will allegedly be launched in November 2015.

The car will share its platform with the next generation of the Mazda MX-5 (Miata) and will adopt the design of the 2010 2uettottanta concept seen in this photo.

Pininfarina won’t be a part of the car’s design as the vehicle will be styled by Fiat’s Centro Stile in collaboration with a satellite studio from Japan.

The 2015 Alfa Romeo Spider will actually be built by Mazda in Japan"

If the production car follow the design of the 2uettottanta then I'm having one!

Realistically though, it will go the way of the Brera and end up looking like its fatter, less attractive cousin frown

Well it will be RWD for a start, according to info on the Mazda...

"the fundamentals for the next MX-5 stay the same: two seats, folding roof, rear-wheel drive. This one will be lighter than the current car, cutting 200 to 300 pounds for a new-and-improved total of about 2200"

"New rear-wheel-drive architecture has been developed, and for the time the MX-5 will be the only Mazda to use it. But the platform will be shared outside the company, with Mazda and Fiat entering into an agreement that will see these underpinnings beneath an Alfa Romeo roadster. (We suspect the Alfa may be called Spider.)"

I like the sound of this biggrin

Indeed, I think alfa have had a history of 2 seat front engine sports cars, so styling wise Im sure it will be stunning.

Given they tried to make the bloody MiTo look like the 8C, this time a taking the silhouette of the 8C wouldn't be a bad idea.

Kamm tail please Alfa.

It's a car I'm interested in, especially as the owner of a "classic" Alfa.

That funny whining noise you can hear?

It'll be the sound of Satta spinning in his grave...
