I've just had a call, inviting me to an IT mag launch in the city. They're promising a free bar and a free Samsung phone.

Anyone think it'll be worth going to? It's on the 5th November...

Free bars dont come up often.

Worth clarifying if its just beer and wine or whether its properly free...

Nah - it'll be rubbish!

To prove it, a small band of PHers will gladly take your place and prove that there wasn't enough alcohol ordered in.

Form a neat queue here!

Tell me where it is and I'll let you know after.

My main worry is that me and a few mates will have to sit through some kind of presentation before being fed drink - surely someone here's got a good idea of what it's going to be like?

I can't remember what the mag was, to be honest. Something IT related though, so not too interesting. The guy on the phone couldn't tell me where it was, either - just that it was somewhere in the city. Hey ho.

Can I just add something.

"Woohoo, free bar!"

Well, I've been called back, and I'm going (or at least being invited). The premise for the mag sold the concept to me - Esquire/FHM for geeks.

The promise of no presentation to sit through, and scantily clad girls sealed the deal.

Here's where I find out it was all lies...

Dan

(Damned if I can remember the name of the mag though)

Isn't that already available and called "T3"?

I would go. Then again, I would have sat through a boring presentation for the promise of a free bar.

No clue, to be honest. I suspect there must be something out there that does the same job though.

Damned if I can remember, although I was told at the time... Sounds like an 'interesting' concept, but I think they'll need luck to last more than a few issues.

Mind you, a mate of mine showed me a golfing mag that was a bit FHM-like. Golf gloves on swimsuited models, that sort of thing - I assume that this mag's doing something similar.

Did you go then? What's the mag like?

Sorry if you posted about it somewhere else.
