Just got the list of previous owners back from DVLA on the Griff.
Very interesting, its been around the country, Scotland, Wales, Dorset, London, Sussex.
Also had 4 different registration No.s, and the first owner, from Scotland, was a woman.
Well worth a fiver, got copies of all the old log books and number transfers.

Send a cheque for £5.00, plus a letter quoting the registration number, and your reasons for the request to:
Vehicle Record Enquires
Vehicle Customer Services
DVLA
Swansea

Just say you are the current keeper and want to fill in some gaps in the cars history, and you should get a reply back in about 10 days. If you have any previous numbers tell them those as well. My cars original number was in the details page of the owners handbook. Never thought it had 3 private plates though!

The previous owners probably loved the car so much that they couldn't bear to see it being driven by someone else locally........or they thought it would be best to sell it as far away as possible - just in case of trouble!

Or it's a decent car, as people are willing to travel for said car. I travelled 150 miles to get mine.

We've brought Wol home. His first two owners lived in Nottingham, then he moved to Stamford, now he's come home.

Judging by the info on the number transfer documents etc, the car was sold back to a TVR dealer (Mole Valley and Portfield by the V5 receipt stubs)each time, rather than going to part ex,as the previous owners did'nt appear to stay with TVR, in one case the guy went from a Merc auto, changed the number but only kept it 3 months. The original supplying dealer was in Scotland, and has remained within the dealer sales network since. All the service stamps tie up with the sales to.
I've been the longest keeper now at over 5 years out of 12 since registration.
