It's time for some front tyres for my Fiesta ST150, any recommendations?
Also my drivers side front has this odd band of wear: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ej2k3wzbgbc2b74/2013-07-... anybody able to shed light on why?

Doesn't look that bad from the picture but I would eliminate the obvious first so wheel alignment, worn bushes and ball joints.

Cornering too hard, low tyre pressure or driven flat, or any mix of those

That tyre does loose pressure quickly so that might explain it (I hasten to add I've only had her a couple months and keep an eye on pressure) new tyres should stop it loosing air I'd hope.

If its worn like that both sides its pressure
One side its tracking/ enthusiastic cornering
If you have inflation problems get tyre fitter to seal the inside of the wheel bead and fit new valves

Bringing up this old thread, didn't get new tyres when I first wrote it the garage reckoned I'd got a couple thousand miles to go.
Now it's time to replace them, the garage has recommended Kuhmo KU39s,or they have for an extra £20 Falken ZE-914. Both have the same ratings on fuel and wet weather performance.

Does anyone have experience/opinions of either? Will be just the front pair.

I've never liked kuhmo or falkern, kuhmos always used to be (can't comment if they still are) made on very poor carcasses. Have seen lots of them with cranks across the tread and the sidewall failing and bulging in several places. the only time I had falkerns they only lasted a couple thousand miles and had buggar all grip while they were fitted. Swapped them for continentals sport contact 2s, which had bad reports for high wear, and they lasted into 10s of thousands of miles and gripped like st to a blanket, costing £100 a corner fitted instead of about £80 for falkerns.
