I sent my car in to a local mechanic (no AM authorised mechanic in Malaysia) to fix my aircon. They have fixed the aircon but now my remote fob doesn't work. The battery was changed and still nothing.

Does anyone know how dismantling the engine and removing the centre slope, could somehow disable the locking system? How can I test the remote fob to see if it works when there is no light?

Looking for ideas as my mechanic has no clue.

It's very easy to put the battery in the wrong way around. Try that first.
