I'm going to switch back to old faithful

Does anyone know of anywhere where it's easy to get hold of good old fashioned un-hydrogenated lard?

I'm going to ask at the local butcher next time I'm there, but I wondered if anyone's found anything at the supermarkets?

Was in ASDA last night and they were selling blocks of beef dripping. They also had massive tins of Ghee for when you want a proper curry.

My pack of Saintsbury's basics lard is lard. no mention of hydrogenated or owt anyway.

Lard won't be hydrogenated - it's hard anyway. What it will contain is antioxidants to stop it going rancid.

There's no harm in these. You actually want antioxidants in your diet.

Going back to lard for what?

You'll be getting comments like "aye ooop." and "ecky thump" from the sarfeners next.
