If you found that your windscreen was moving ,and noticed the adhesive holding said windscreen was coming loose...and just for arguments sake you have 24 months AM premium warranty....would you expect your screen to be covered and then therefore repaired...at least removed and re bonded....according to AM this is a wear and tear item so not covered..like many on here am getting a bit pissed off with AM at the moment , their customer service is st...
Anyone wanna buy a DBS.....

Tony, who told you it was wear and tear - the dealer, the wartranty company, AM? If it was just the dealer phone the warranty company and argue with them.

So how did you amange to wear and tear your windscreen?

What a crock of st. Hope you get it sorted

Unbelievable and frankly quite ridicules.

What ever is happening within AM Customer Services, are the new investors part of Billy Smarts,it sounds like you've found a clown.

Tony you must be furious and I don't blame you but I can think of no better man than you to tear them a new one and get it put right
under the warranty.....wear and tear my arse.

Failing that you could always carry out your knee jerk reaction and sell the thing and sod em, then buy a Kia with 7 years warranty and
a fully fitted screen.

Joking apart I feel for you as I know how well you look after your cars, its just a pity Customer Services can't treat their long standing
customers such as yourself the same way.

Had this with a dealer and a frayed seat belt. Told me not covered. I phoned warranty compsany direct. After a small skirmish they agreed with me.

Turns out the dealer never called them - but that's another story.

Windscreen doesn't have seals, as you know, its bonded. More than that its part of the body strength.

Good luck tomorrow

Never heard of a bonded in screen coming loose being classed as 'wear and tear' . As Neil said its part of the integral strength of the passenger compartment. Be interesting to know what the factory take on it would be.

Yes, I'll buy your DBS.
Let me see, one careful (?) owner, dodgy windscreen - how about £500 and I'll even pick it up! :-)

(On a more serious note, however, I suspect this might get sorted to your satisfaction - good luck)

I find it odd that the dealer didn't correct the warranty people about the fact that the screen is bonded and doesn't have seals. After all, it is in the dealer's interest to secure warranty work.

Plus the fact that the structural integrity, not to mention the safety, of your car is compromised. For that reason alone it should be rectified without any cost to you.

Good luck tomorrow, although I have a feeling it will work out.

I was also told last week that the AM premium warranty doesn't cover seals (after asking what is/isn't covered).

Hmmm...
Rather than the seals being the sticking point, the warranty also states "glass" as being specifically excluded. So as annoying as it is, I'd be surprised if it is covered. rolleyes

Have you had the car from new? could it have had a screen replaced in the past?

Check insurance policy for windscreen cover then crack it and call Autoglass.

Of course it should be noted that no contributor to this thread is in any way suggesting or condoning that the OP should attempt insurance fraud!

Tony if it is as you say a bonding issue then as been said it is part of the body integrity it is therefore a safety issue. I would suggest that you email the dealer and the warranty company asking for an assurance that in the event of a accident that bonding would not have contributed to any injuries and in their opininon this would not warrant rebonding. An alturnative, get a windscreen company to give an opinon as to its safety.

Second thoughts that you ask why the the installation of the bonding has no bearing the safety of the body shell. Therefore has no basis of warranty claim on safety grounds.

excellent advise........the important part is that there is no seal .....the bonding has failed

+2 to what Mr Pilgrim states, safety concern, you don't want that smacking you in the face on the motorway. Poor poor service from AM.
