Advice on Techart Exhaust for 996TT

Hi

I need some advise on the Techart exhaust for my 996 TT they do 3 types, Touring, Sport and Racing does anyone have experience with these exhaust systems?

£2500 will buy me one but need to know if the racing will be too loud....or the sports too quite...

Any advise would be great.

If you wish to do track days I'd check on the noise levels from each. The Racing exhaust may put you above limits for a lot of circuits (trackdays tend to have lower noise limits than racedays).

Lee77 - have a word with Phil Hindley @ Tech9 (they turned my 993TT into something firm & fruity!) - as recommended by Steve Kevlin (Mr.Techno-bod @ PCGB). Phil has won the Tuscan challenge and is one of the leading lights in the Porsche Cup series - 0151 425 5911 (does national collections). I've recommended Tech9 before so in case ther's any suggestion of foul play I assure you I'm just a keen punter!
Anyway, he/they should know all about the db levels but it does seem a bit limp wristed to worry about noise at a sodding race meet - oops, sorry, I forgot: we're emaciated in this country so we have to pretend (via quite engines & exhausts) that we're not driving totally un-PC motors! Bullshit! Mmmm - 996TT with sound effects - I think so!

Hi Lee,

I think you should have a word with Manu, who runs Scuderia Systems. They are doing a lot of exhaust systems for 996 TT and they supply all makes. He will let you try any system out on your car until you are satisfied with it. You only pay once you are satisfied, and I think he will let you run the exhaust for a little while to decide, but its best to get full details from him.

Another PHer is having a new system to his Ferrari 360 fitted by Manu and he is going to try a few to see which he prefers.

Lee77 - I forgot to say that Tech9 now ARE an (if not THE?) official UK TechArt dealer. But the point is, as someone said previously, you do want someone with motorsport experience which these chaps certainly do. (Indeed, the guy who used to look after my Porkers at the local OPC (he was their service manager but wanted more motorsport action)now works with Phil at Tech9 so they must be doing something right!)

Finally decided on the sports exhaust system for the 996 TT, going for the G-Force Motorsport option with 100 cell race cats and the upgraded airfilter.
They seem like a good bunch, I am getting it fitted next week and will post here what I think of it.

Did you ever purchase the TechArt exhaust for your 996 TT. I have a 2004 996TT cab and am debating between the TechArt and the Cargraphic.
