my disk drives not working

Can anyone tell me how to fix it? its power light is on but it keeps saying device not availible and in propertys says there is no disk in the drive or the door is open

I guess you could see if it's recognised in the BIOS first.

Is the power light continuously on? This usually means the data cable is the wrong way round.
