Poor Brake Performance
Discussion
very common on MMCs on the S1 and also on std Lotus pads on the S2 (seem to absorb water)
if you have an S2 (or later S1 with std pads) then stick some Pagid RS42s on - sorted
if you have an early S1 with MMCs then Im afraid its either get used to them or change them for steel discs/pads etc

There has been a lot of positive response on SELOC about the replacement MMC pads sold by www.elise-shop.com/
I have a 98 S1 with the original MMC's and am looking at getting these at the end of the month

What car is it?
I've got an S2 111S which had appauling brakes. Replaced all 4 corners with EBC Greenstuff and they're spot on now.
Turns out that despite a brake inspection from a Lotus specialist in my area (not BrookeK or SteveW) I had no rear inside pads left!
Basically as soon as I touched the brakes in the wet the fronts would lock (very scary heading for roundabouts)
