Just taken this off this week's Costa Blanca News. I wonder if it's the start of a European wide arrangement.
'MOTORISTS with Spanish vehicles who receive speeding fines in France can now be charged for the offence in Spain.
The DGT national traffic department noted that a reciprocity agreement between both countries came into effect on Thursday (August 1).'

Little update to this which you guys may or may not have seen, apparently such an agreement is being put into place, however the Uk/Ireland/Denmark have all opted out. On the spot fines are still in place, and naturally the french will be enforcing this to the best of their ability, especially around Le Mans 24h time...

They (the French Police) are out all the time now, as we were only in France the other week and saw plod on the side of the road about 4 or 5 times. Plus one of our party who left early Sunday morning to get back to blighty sent us text to let us know he been stung for 90 euros!
