Have John Lewis buggered up?

I've had a few hundred quid of JL vouchers burning a hole in my pocket and wanted to upgrade the standard crappy 18-55mm lens that my Canon 550D came with. So I went in and saw the below ex display lens for £220 and have bought it.

Now I'm looking online and Amazon have it for sale for £334, so have JL buggered up or have a bought something different?

Looks to me like you have just got yourself a good deal on en ex display model. I think there has only been one 17-85.

It's a good deal... They used to be an expensive lens

Wilkinson have it for £250 at the moment though brand new
