My E350 had it's first service last week. This prompted me to look through the pack of manuals that came with the car in more detail.

It would appear I do not have a 'service book' for keeping a stamped record of each service in.

THe 'service booklet' that is there talks about there now being two copies of the services. One being the 'stamped service book' and the other being kept electronically by Mercedes. Does anyone else have expereince of a new Merc bought in the last 12 months and what service book it came with?

thanks!

Same issue here! You now get a piece of paper, detailing what service was undertaken, mileage and whether service is continuous etc. More secure than a 'dodgy' stamp in a book by all accounts. Previously you had a nice glossy, 'fully stamped' up service book and the invoice to back it up! No more it seems.

Whenever we take in a Merc as p/x we have to call to check service history now.

thank guys... I emailed the dealer and they confirmed I should think myself lucky to have an 'electronic service history' and therefore no service book to fill with lovely stamps.

Which I'm sure works great if you always have the car servied by OEM dealer. But leaves you with having to rely on paper invoices only if you go to an INDY or god forebid wanted to DIY an oil change!

(all a little mute as I have the service pack for 2 more services).
