Hey guys,

I've had the most bizarre weekend which all circle around my old car. Here is the story if you can please bare with me. I used to own a black Hyundai Coupe 2.7 V6 (EX05 VKP) which I sold on the 9th July. Shortly after this I got a letter through from the council and it was was Bus Lane fine, I promptly responded to the form stating that I was not the driver nor the owner anymore. A few days later in comes a letter from Police Scotland and this time it's a speeding fine, again I completed the form and sent it back. A week has passed with no more letters however on Saturday night about 2am I was sleeping but awoken to the sound of my doorbell, so in a half sleepy state I scrambled to the door and heard a further bang on the doors and "Police open up".

I opened the door to two officers (one of which was looking around my back garden) who were looking for....me...by name, they then said "black Hyundai coupe?" I said "no not in a good few weeks I sold it" they then took the details of the guy I sold it to when I asked what was going on they said they couldn't tell me. They were in their unmarked red Audi. Nor did they apologise for the drama they caused and or the fact they got my entire household up and out of bed.

So my question is did anyone see my old car flying around town or doing something over the weekend? I can only guess that they were giving chase because they seemed ready to lift me plus they were in their unmarked car, goodness knows what went on.

EX05VKP

The chap I sold it to is already trying to sell it on fast as I've seen it on gumtree.

It certainly sounds like the new owner is wanted - and apparently drives like a knob too.

Sorry to hear you got dragged out of bed at stupid o'clock in the morning but it's good to see the Police actually doing something. It would have been nice to get even a verbal "sorry for your trouble sir" out of them though, but I guess they were feeling under some pressure themselves. When it's clear you're not the droid they're looking for though it doesn't cost much time or effort to say "sorry".

Hope the new owner gets lifted soon.

Oh he has changed the advert or at least the images in the advert.
I just don't know what the hells going on but whatever happened at the weekend the police were fairly primed for action. It's funny I got his number from the previous advert and told the police but they said "oh no, we won't phone him" but still come banging on my door in the weary hours.

Not sure on typical prices for these, but that seems cheap in order to move it on quickly... wink

Plus, call me judgemental, but the angle of the driver's seat is the trademark boy-racer 45 degree position hehe

Fingers cross I haven't heard anymore about it or from the police for that matter. I'd very much like to know what happened though. I noticed that not only has he dropped the price for a third time he has also added "quick sale" which to me suggests they are homing in on him.

In terms of value I sold it for less, they just don't shift, with a 2.7 V6 engine the tax is quite high and the fuel consumption is terrible, people just don't want them. I tried to sell it for a year and got nowhere, I couldn't even give it away.

Nope but funnily enough when I 'fake' called the guy about my old car pretending to want to buy it to get his address he wouldn't give me it and wanted to meet in various car parks around town one of which was Asda at the beach. Dodgy, I told him that I wouldn't deal a car in a car park.

So I take it this is just advertising for your Hyundai Coupe 2.7 V6 that you can't sell?

Funnily enough I saw this very car belting down Great Northern road past the Enterprise place when I was sat in traffic heading home the other day.

He didn't seem to be hanging about.

Eh? I think you'd best go back and re-read this thread.

Yeah it seems to be the norm I think. The guy's just going daft in it although (knock on wood) I haven't had any further letters through or offense notices so I assume they caught up with him, at least I hope they did. The guy obviously has a heavy foot, I did noticed when I let him test drive it that he was gunning it a wee bit but I was just happy he was buying it.

I should have been more cautious though I mean the guy just came to my door one day and said "are you selling the coupe?" given how long I had been trying for I just jumped at the chance. In hind sight though who just comes to your door? It's supposed to be sold and done and dusted but its come back to bite me in the ass. I just hope the police caught up with him and sorted it all out, I assume they were chasing him for speeding but who knows since they won't tell me anything.

Here we are though, another weekend so I wonder what will happen.
