Drove a Class 73 diesel-electric loco on Friday...

And loved it! Only had about 5 minutes at the controls, but then again it was only £10 as it was the Spa Valley Diesel Gala, and it seemed silly not to have a go for so little outlay. Went with a friend who is also a big train nerd and he also had a go - we both want more now! Thinking about sharing their half day experience in a Class 37, one of my fave locos, and definitely want a crack at steam too. Just thought I'd share with my fellow rail fans on here

I took the family to a steam railway and they lifted my daughter who's 3 onto the footplate, she came back a bit excited and sooty....

I used to Drive 73's for a living (Mainly on the Gatwick Express in BR days).. Top loco's, a real gem.....
