I'm just in the process of negotiating the cost of my M400, has anyone ever got and discount from Noble dealerships?

AFAIK there is no discount but you can negotiate for items like extra year's warranty, free service, luggage and full tank (no mudflaps!). You should aim to get something from this list, but probably there's nothing off the purchase price.

I didn't haggle.

IMHO if the dealer puts in substantial effort to sell you the car and the price is reasonable compared to other alternatives, then there's not much room for manouvre. Especially if you have an option to get one quickly AND the price has just been lowered AND as the price is so close to the 3R AND it's just be voted Autocar drivers car of the year.

You can always ask but bear in mind someone has to make margin to offer a service. I do expect the after-sales to be spot on though!

You might be able to haggle on luggage sets (I went for the leather). Also bear in mind that you need to specify the luggage set when you order else the factory probably won't have fitted the luggage clips.

I guess you could save money by NOT specifying the car audio; I haven't used it that much as it's rather drowned out by the (much nicer) engine sounds

Don't think I'd buy one without at least the cutout and wiring for a radio. Be a real pain to retrofit and might affect resale.

The dealership have confirmed 0% discount, which i think is a bit disapointing given that the purchase price with options is a shade under 60K. they have hinted about a free car cover but nothing so far! I appreciate what you say about service and i agree thats worth quite alot of £££ but so far i've been a bit disapointed by the lack of info on options, pictures of trim etc. I just hope the after sales is 100% else i will start kicking off.

Rob, I also asked and got no discount (couldn't even get the mats thrown in!) - who is your dealer?

To be honest mate, most us will be hoping you can't get a discount because its that type of practise that further undermines residuals. They've already knocked a load off the prices of all the cars fairly recently.

I don't think many sports car manufacturers offer discounts?

Worth trying to get some luggage or something though

Hi Rob,

No, we do not offer discount, but you'll find that this is the norm in our part of the market sector. I don't know of any hand-manufactured car that is built to order that can be had at a discounted price. This is not Noble being sniffy, it's just indicative of the fact that we are not making a mass-produced product with a generous margin built in to start with.

We're also keen to protect residual prices of our cars, and in a market as tiny as this, even the odd discount here and there (which we cannot sustain anyway) could have a larger than average impact in our precious market.

I'd imagine that Ferrari, Porsche, Morgan and Marcos will tell you the same thing...

Hope this helps.

Come on guys, GET REAL!!! Any model in the Noble range, at the list price, offers fantastic value for money. When people ask me how much it cost I allways ask what do they think it cost, and the nearest guess yet was £35k more than I paid.
Martin.

The dealer is Mole Valley. I did get discount off my 360 Modena and Lotus Exige when i bought them, not alot i'll grant you but its at least shows willing. At the end of the day when someone bolts 5K of options on any vehicle it always goes down well when the supplier says let through that one in rather than the purchaser having to squeeze the deal.

I would just like to clarify that the position with regard to discounting applies to cars sold direct from the factory ONLY. We do not control new or used dealer prices.

We are both manufacturer and dealer here at Barwell, yes. And as a dealer, our policy is not to discount. However, our dealers (ie Mole Valley, Kerridges, Chris Neils etc) are independent businesses, and as such, we cannot dictate discount policy to them. This, apparently, is the law.

...anytime, Rob. Just e-mail me and let me know when you're due to get your car and we can schedule a tour a few weeks prior to that, so you can see it being built.

What an amazing feeling that is...when you see your car for the first time. Mine was up on the ramp with both clams off....

but I knew it was mine! Martin.
