Looking at 1.25T Clarke aluminium jobby - anyone any experience of same or alternate recommendations!

Car in to dealer tomorrow re mystery clicking sound on left corners but would like to get equipment in for self service or inspection in future (built kit car previously so know a thing or three) and would like option to inspect in future

I bought the same jack for my DB9, but I had the 2 ton version.

See here

I found the jack to be excellent

You may find a low-profile (race) jack easier - http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/...

Costco have some suitable jacks in occasionally - and if you don't like it you can take it back.

If you want low entry and built like a tank, I would recommend a Sealey 2500LE:

Following one of these failing on me, I won't go near one ever again.... Bloody rubbish.

Replaced with Costco 2 ton alloy jack.... Much bettersmile

Yes 1.25T jacks do tend to do that when lifting a near 2 ton load. wink

Corner weight less than total car weight though surely (unless you are lifting from centre of car?!)

V8LM's recommendation looking better, from a solidity perspective, as I gather ally ones can twist slightly under initial raise/load and I would have no spotter most of the time. Will double up with ally axle stands for safety (having built a kitcar one knows never to rely on jacks alone!)
