Waitrose Sliced Artichokes in Olive Oil
Discussion
I'm addicted to these as they are extremely moreish!
I've had them in salads, on pizza etc. Are they good for me? Is it easy to cook the vegetable Artichoke? Rather than out of the jar? Will it taste similar, obviously beetroot taste different when it is pickled rather than fresh.
Thanks for your help.

Artichokes are supposed to be extremely good for you. They're a member of the thistle family, which is supposed to have 'cleansing' properties.
I don't know about that, but I love them. I can't imagine they're particularly healthy swimming in oil though.
Fresh, they're a real treat, but I never buy these in England because they're invariably bruised and stale. Tinned are good, drained in a salad.
