After having the good fortune to own a V8 Vantage for the last 2 and a half years I'm now thinking of a V12.

I'm due a couple of quid back from her majesty's revenue and customs so I'm thinking now would be a good time.

I was in JCT 600 in Leeds the other week getting mine serviced (outstanding service from them by the way, but that's another story) and had a close look at a couple they had in.

One thing I forgot to do was check the front spoiler height.
My drive is a little steep to start with and due to this I have to reverse at a slight angle to get the V8 up it.
Would any of you kind people know the difference in height of the front spoiler on the the V8 to the V12? If any.

Unfortunately I'm bobbing around the North Sea for the next 2 weeks so I'm unable to check myself.

I've done the google thing but can't find out any info. and yes I have the book but that's at home as well. :-)

My next problem is convincing the good lady that I NEED ONE.
But I'll cross that er. discussion when I get to it.

Cheers guys.

Just get one in the same colour as your current car and get a private plate. Sorted yes

The next problem will be the prices, which in all honesty are all over the place.
Some well over priced cars out there.

I too swapped from a V8V to a V12V and Ive never had a single issue with the front spoiler height although I had the same concerns are you are raising.

Im not sure how they have done it as it appears to be low, but it just doesnt scrape on any of the speed bumps, inclines and such that my old 997 C2S Aerokit used to scrape on.

I would suggest you go on a test drive and go back to your home and attempt to park on your drive. I did something similar...

Came close to grounding the splitter once one mine coming out of a Shell fuel station of all things. I have a relative to whom I won't go in the V12 since I don't think there will be clearance although my V8 had no problem. I guess it is a combination of it being lower and dammed expensive to find out the hard way. Good luck. If you can make it work, then it is worth it.

Went form V8 to V12 - had to re-profile the drive - it was the spoiler overhang that was the problem for me (vertical clearance was virtually the same)

Thanks all for your replys and suggestions.

This has only wet my apatite even more biggrin
Think reprofiling the drive might be an idea.smash

Still, I've another 10 days offshore yet before I get back to dry land. Plus the fact my accountant is on holiday for another week or so before I can get an idea how much Mr HMRC will refund me.
Something to do with kids and school holidays. Poor excuse if you ask me laugh

Russ
I used to be a Diver many moons ago but to be honest I got sick to death of getting wet.
Turned my hand to the deck side of things and have now progressed to the lofty heights of Shift Supervisor for my sins.

Could be worse. At least I get 4 weeks off every time I get home.
Only down side is I spend far to much time finding things I NEED. V12 now being one of them lol.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't simply turned into an 'all out shallow set of justifications for upgrading to a V12V'.

So let me be the first biggrin

Do it - I just did, there's absolutely no way you'll regret it!!!!
