Hi gents excuse the question, I've not been able to find any info via my search results.

Last Thursday I used my GTO3 to commute to work (20 minutes easy B road and 10 minutes motorway). Upon returning home I gave the car a couple of minutes to tick over and switched off. I noticed whilst walking away that there was a fair amount of hazy light grey smoke coming from the air box aperture in the rear clam. I opened it up to find that the smoke was coming from under/ around the air box. I'm assuming that it's related to the turbo, especially now as my oil level seems to have dropped more than it ever has before. There was no obvious source of moisture, oil or heat damage.

Could anyone more technical give some advice about what to check/ do next?

Thanks all,

Nick

Hi,
I'd visibly check oil feed / return on the turbo for leaks,
after that pop the boost hose off and check for play on the turbo shaft, side to side , in and out.
Smoke might indicate a leaking gasket, check turbo to manifold (x4) nuts and turbo to exhaust (x5) nuts.

Good luck!

I would be checking that one of the breather pipes hasn't fallen off, or the the breather tank wasn't blocked if it is a standard one.
