MAKING THE MARQUE RALLY - Sunday 1st September

It's just a month to go to the Making the Marque car run, which might be one of the final opportunities to use your Aston before this fabulous centenary year draws to a close and the weather starts to change.

Astons of any age are very welcome to take part. The route is designed for the older cars - a pleasant 85 miles from Feltham to Newport Pagnell avoiding main roads where possible and linking the key locations in Aston Martin history.

The £75 package includes breakfast, lunch and tea for two people, a rally plate and souvenir brochure with some previously unpublished material.

There is ample time in the programme for socialising with other owners and given the number of participants already booked in it should be a very congenial day out. It might be your last chance to get some touring snaps for your centenary album.

I'd love to but the previous weekend I'm at the Wings and Wheels at Dunsfold so the chances of getting out for another day of fun the following weekend are remote, especially when someone is trying to persuade me to take Sparkly to Spa the weekend after that!
