Issues Uploading Photos to Classifieds

Paid for a new advert, but when it comes to uploading photos all I get is a spinning wheel. I have literally left it loading for hours but to no avail.

I've had a quick search on the forum and tried several different browsers (IE, Chrome, FireFox) -- and even tried disabling Flash, and Pop-Up Blockers and combinations of everything else. I've even tried this from a different machine, but no luck at all.

Are there any other tips or possible fixes I can try as I am going spare?

Sadly no, it does acknowledge the file, but says images must be larger than 5MB.

I tried lowering the file size down to around 500KB (from 1MB) and no matter what, the error message comes up. It's the same here with IE, Chrome and FireFox.

Anything else I can try?

Can't upload photos either.... It crashes when you try

Just a quick amendment to my message above, it says files should NOT be larger than 5MB.

Tried again from a different work machine and my own after a reboot, etc again with a selection of browsers, still no luck!

Tried Flash update as well.

You get that message if the server returns a 500 error when uploading the file (not necessarily if it's over 5MB as the message indicates).

Any change it's a png file you renamed to jpg?

Regardless, e-mail one of the images to [e-mail] and I'll see if I have the same problem.

I've looked into it a bit and it seems the EXIF data on the images is causing an error. I'm not sure your level of understanding of EXIF data, but whenever you take a picture your camera stores a lot of information about the image such as camera model, make, date, shutter speed, flash, etc. We look at the EXIF data to get the Orientation of the photo so that images don't need to be rotated or appear upside down.

For example, here is the image you sent me:


I think what's causing the problem is the null values for Artist, Copyright, etc. so I've done a code fix for the classifieds to handle that case. But until we're able to release that code, you won't be able to upload your images as they are now.
