There is a reason Tim is asked by AMOC to be their judge of originality at Concours. He knows these cars like no-one else yes

I second both the above. Chiltern Aston look after my DB6 very well.

Rikki Cann in Southend does inspections, he's involved in AMOC concours too.

Where do you want them to be based?

I'm midlands but I guess it depends on where a car was.

Ah right, so you've not found the car yet.

Nope, hence wanting a sourcing person.

Sourcing and inspection will be two different things. By David Brown era I assume you mean DB4/5/6? Anyway you could try Philip Jones at Byron International (AllAstonMartin) . He's a broker and is well regarded. Otherwise just get on the internet and start searching. Out of interest what exactly are you looking for?

I've got a very nasty itch for a nice usable manual DB6, so any thoughts PM me please!

I've not got personal experience but I was told to avoid autos?

Any views?

Not driven an auto DB6 but generally you're right they are viewed as an anathema. The experience of driving a DB Aston and an auto box doesn't seem to sit right. The straight 6 engine sounds glorious so I wouldn't want an auto deciding when to change gear.

The 3 speed auto in the DB6 is not very good. But if the rest of the car is right, you can have it changed to a later, 4 speed auto (said to be a good conversion), or fit a manual gearbox - which is what I did. It transformed the car! As with all things to do with Astons, either change can affect your wallet.
