All suspension tired - MOT
Discussion
My 93 eunos just passed its mot with advisory stating that ALL suspension is tired. Dampers are not leaking but I guess they are quite old, I think he is pointing out the bushes are all worn, droplinks especially he said.
Question is what's my options? It's a std car.
Replce with oe ? Some oe and some polybush? How many components am I looking at ? Thanks for any advice.

Well the car in total has 34? suspension bushes it's going to be expensive to replace all and never had to replace any bar the anti roll bar bushes. So if the tester mention the arb bushes I would get a set of polybushes for the front and back.
Without seeing the car it's hard to tell.

Is it worth buying one of the ebay poly bush kits

He said there was play in pretty much all components , especially drop links but not at fail yet. Would replacing a few not be false economy when it looks like all the bushes have some serious age on them?

Personally, if I was only doing some of them I don't think I'd go the poly bush route.
If replacing all then fine. They are usually less pliant than the standard bushes and can lead to a harsher ride which is fine if that's what you are after, on the other hand you could just tackle the worst ones first with standard kit, after all they were good enough for the last twenty years...
Not being funny or controversial just that a car with good standard kit is likely to be more pleasant to drive than one with a few uprated bits of kit here and there (or even all uprated kit).

It amazes me what s
t some MOT testers will think up. If there are any faults on the suspension then there are individual fails or advisories he can use, suspension is tired means nothing and is a made up advisory.Gassing Station | Mazda MX5/Roadster/Miata | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
