I'm looking for something that is a bit of fun but that I can still take my wife and daughter out in for days out. Does anyone know if the stratstone warranty is any good ie do they honour it or is it worthless?
Drivers seat looks a bit abused but I reckon I could get that sorted over time- then again once you are sitting in it does it matter?
Edited to add- I've also noticed the centre console looks like a bit of trim has dropped down - could be a haggling point or does it give a hint of neglect?

In the paperwork picture, there is an invoice from Keighley Trade Centre. Suggest you do some research regarding this outfit! Personally, I would not touch a car that has been anywhere near them.
The interior looks well worn given the mileage and the car has standard seats. The ad says it has sports seats.

Sytner select vehicle - hmmm they pump out cars that don't go on their dealer forecourts - I drove a 335i from them and it was claimed the mileage was 50k, when I saw the car, externally it was fine but the wear looked like 100k...when I then drove it, it was the biggest bag of nails and the suspension felt so tired...
I'll be honest I wouldn't touch this givem the trade centre reference...if I go past the dealer on saturday I'll pop in and see what's what !

When I see this phrase I run. Very fast.
When Sytner own a few OPCs, you do wonder why certain Porsche cars go to their Sytner Select business. Clearly they aren't of the quality and/or age to sit at the OPC forecourt. However since OPC don't sell 996s, there may be a reason they are keeping the car in the group to sell rather than punting it in the trade.
Give it a look, perhaps an inspection and compare other similar cars.
I would also ask for a Porsche Healthcheck report which Sytner Select can have done free/cheaply at the Sytner OPC down the road from the Select showroom. That will give you some info to go on re condition. At the same time they can give you some rev range info (not sure if this is possible on a 996).
Finally haggle hard if you do wish to buy...

To think I bought my current e36 in 1998 and it's now worth a 1/20 of it's original purchase price whilst your 996 is on for a 1/5 of it's original price This however looks more like it and nearly 5k less.
