What tyres are best ?

Nearing the end of my latest project and was wondering what tyres would be best?

Car is very light with about 350 bhp mainly fast foad with the occassional track day?

Thats if they allow 120+ decibles around their circuit?

My options are : Pirelli P Zero Assimmetrico

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

Toyo R888 Proxes

Vredestein Ultra something

or Kuhma Exceta

What route do I go down for fast road and the concept of encountering rain from time to time?

Would love some feedback guys?

out of the above list 888's...

from years of personal experience they do work better on lighter cars.

what is the weight of your latest whip?

Depends on what wheels are you running? Michelin supersports if they come in your size.

from your list 888's all the way, half decent on the road & wet conditions too..

they worked fantastically on my last two track cars 800kgs & 1050kgs... they have not worked so well on the rear of my 1300kg GT3 due to overheating on track. ok on the road tho.

Given your list, another vote for 888's. I've been using them on my track Evo which weighs just under 1300 kgs without any problems.

You may be struggling to get onto tracks with 120 db though other than noisy days,

unfortunatly the tyre size I am after is the same as the F40 and there is

not a lot of choice. Just need some help choosing the right ones?

so far it looks like R888 are in front.

I'm happy to go with these if they will do the job?

you don't say what size the wheels are, so impossible to give advice.

but you think it's this F40 size

245-40 ZR 17
335-35 ZR 17

but then quote a 10" and 14" rim and the F40 did not have that !!

So I am lost on what size you need sorry.

The rim size is F. 10.5 x 17 R. 14 x 17

The tyre size is F. 245/45/17 OR 255/40/17 I don't mind which?

The tyre size R. 315/35/17 OR 335/35/17 Again I don't mind which?

Just varying the sizes a little helps give you more choice?

I know the smaller sizes will be a little stretched but this helps clear the inner arch a bit?

R888's are dated. Think you can do better these days.

Kumho are making some excellent tyres at the moment.

I love R888s on track but you need to be aware that they whine like a bh and could be annoying on long trips.
