Vinyl Wrap on a 996

Just bought a 2003 996 cabriolet in midnight blue with grey interior and the exterior colour isn't really doing it for me. Thinking of having a wrap, for what I'm told will be approx £700.

Anyone done this or had experience?

Always liked the dark charcoal/silver metallic colour

£700 is very cheap for a full wrap, be wary!

You ideally want 3M material and 3m approved fitters, I would say you'd be nearer £2000 for a proper job.

Agreed, for £700 that's liable to be the cheapy stuff that goes on vans adn gets replaced regularly as a result, proper 3M will last a lot better but as mentioned get an approved fitter for it. I've seen some shocking vinyl wraps in the last couple of years, fine on a race car or a work van but you'd not want it on your pride and joy.

I sat behind a RR sport recently somewhere on the A3 in Surrey, it had a matt black vinyl wrap and looked properly awful. There were bubbles all over the rear bumpers and rear tailgate, so I assumed there were issues all over the car. It looked pants. There might have been a nice car underneath, but it looked like an abused 200k mile shed. Wraps can look amazing, but need to be done carefully. I'd have a Martini racing one personally.
