Hi I am looking at buying a 4.3 Vantage, just been paid out after my house was burgled and RS4 Nicked.

I have seen a nice example but it does not have the phone prep. Is this something that can be fitted professionally linking with Sat Nav screen, instead of having a Parrott stuck on the dash?

Even with phone prep it doesn't really link with the Sat Nav. Not sure why you would want it to - a TomTom is far better than the inbuilt one.
Phone prep addition won't be easy, dash will need to come apart, you will need a new steering wheel with the phone controls and if you go down that route make sure you get the additional microphone added by the drivers sun visor. Otherwise you wont be heard using the inbuilt microphone.

Not sure if the phone book etc came up on the screen as does the RNSE system in the Audi. I test drove one the other day but it did not have phone prep.

Hi Graham, the phonebook etc is not displayed on the sat nav in an AM it appears on the so called infotainment screen ( where you see the radio or audio information. If the car has phone prep it will have the relevant buttons on the steering wheel, but I'd certainly get the seller to confirm before you siphon on any dotted lines. Best of luck.

You can fit a Parrot and hide it in the cubbyhole in front of the cupholder, as I did in mine.
It won't integrate with the dash or steering wheel phone buttons though.

There's a Parrot fitted in mine with iPhone connection. Display is in the hole in the centre armrest and the controller hidden in the driver's side door storage. Info also comes up on the infotainment screen (even texts received on the phone etc). As already mentioned, the inbuilt mic isn't very good. I do a lot of shouting if I have to use the phone but that's partly because someone is ruining my enjoyment of the drive!

Yeah, these cars are not mass market cars like Audis, so don't expect the same level of development, like anyone having actually tested the hands free system (or in fact anything else other than driving controls) in real situations smile

It does just about work, but you have to change up, let off the throttle, and yell. Works fine when you're parked though, so that's useful...

Not to sound down the the marque, I love my V8V, but the peripheral things like hands free, iPhone integration, and satnav are all pretty crap compared to a mass produced car.
