RAF Avro RJ70?

Just been looking on flightradar24. Seems it took off from RAF Culdrose and did some odd-looking lowish-level circuits around Somerset and Wiltshire. It seems it's now landed (probably at Boscombe Down?) What do the RAF use these for and what might it've been doing?

A Flight 32(The Royal)Sqn have 2 BAe 146-100 CC2 (RJ70) and 2 BAe 146-200 C3 (RJ85).

Primarily they are used for VIP transport and Communications purposes.

Whoops, I meant RNAS! Only assuming but the trace definately originated from just east of Helston.

are the UOR second hand 'mini tac airlifter' 146s on strength yet ?

Yes the UOR 146 are online, the RJ flying in to Boscombe is probably Qinetiqs.

I'm surprised anyone still uses 146s and their derivatives for VIP work after all the reports of vaporised oil and organophosphates contaminating the cabin air.

It's RNAS Culdrose (HMS Seahawk). It has never been an RAF Station.
