First complaint about the Cerb a week into it being back on the road. It wouldn't idle as I was trying to put it away, so had to give some revs and it kept dying.. (Odd it's done 200 miles fine, was idling ok earlier as well). Neighbour came storming out his house to give a some ear ache.. *Yawn*.

Oh well.. Was always going to be one! Or maybe two..

Nae luck. My new neighbour introduced herself by complaining and insulting me and my wife a couple of weeks ago. Pushing all the wrong buttons really. I hope she doesn't last long. A couple of the properties in our street are rented and seem to have a high turnover of aholes.

Might go wake the alcoholic up from her stinking hangover now after I've finished my cup of tea smile

Thing is, it wasn't that late, and I was only trying to put it away. I think as a first ask there is a polite way to do things. Like you, the miserable nearly dead prick pushed all the wrong buttons.. Genuinely as it is a TVR (loud) I make an effort to be courteous.

Most of our neighbours won't talk to us because of the 'Cerb. We don't take it out before 9 and it's never home late. We certainly don't sit in it revving the nuts off it either. Funnily enough the biggest winger owns a Honda type-r thing with a fart-cannon exhaust which is just as loud!

Always thought the Brits are very enthusiastic about (their) cars. Here in Switzerland I get the impression almost anything that has to do with cars is "forbidden". But can't complain about my neighbours (and the Cerb is not the loudest!). Sometimes, I get home very late/early. However, when leaving I never rev the engine, just start and drive away (and do it elsewhere smile ).

Not true. The British can be some of the most sour and bitter people around when it comes to other peoples' cars. That one above about some moaning dhead with an equally loud Honda thing is typical. If you car looks fast/loud/expensive many British people will go out of their way to find a reason to be offended by it. It's not everyone by any means, but enough to constantly remind you that someone is disgruntled by your choice in cars.

Harsh man..

She does need some juice.. Have unplugged the ECU, will run to the petrol station and take it down the road, see what happens.

We have just moved house. I took the Tuscan out for a little jaunt last night, only 3 miles or so to keep the battery topped up. When I came back, driving respectfully I might add, I drove up to the little cul-de-sac where she gets parked, reversed back into my spot, and noticed a couple of the neighbours had come outside. They were an oldish couple, and they both stood there in the distance, glaring over at me with their arms folded in unison. This carried on for long enough to make the whole experience quite uncomfortable.

I needed to have a go at fixing the boot solenoid, so decided to do so whilst leaving the car idling throughout. When they spun round and marched inside, I turned the engine off.

Decatted, sports exhaust and no backboxes. Excellent. evil

Oh, and I fixed the boot.

Good for them (that they can hear the car).

Normally in older peoples' homes you can't hear yourself think over the volume of Countdown on the TV, which they try to have a conversation over the top of.

So it's like this I have a cerbera with the sports exhaust and I know how loud it is so make the effort to minamalise noise when leaving the house . I love the sound of the car .but also respect my neighbours rite to quite in there own house .unfortunatly one of my neighbours has a evo with big bore exhaust . And leaves it ticking over which really winds me up this is mainly because he's a selfish ballsack with issues . So the moral of the story is its your passion not your neibours .if you need to work on the car let them know and maybe they maybe a little more understanding

Believe me.. I have been working on cars for 12yrs at the house now, in various forms/shapes etc. I have always been, and am always as courteous as possible. Same applies to leaving and arriving with noisy cars. The guy is just a prick. He doesn't like our household anyway for whatever reason, it was just an excuse.
