speedo drive oil leak s1 problems continue

Ok so ever since I replaced my Speedo drive and changed the gearbox oil I have had a steady oil leak from the Speedo drive seal, this week I bit the bullet and bought the correct seal from Burton power and took the drive pinion out again I prized a small amount of rubber out but there is no way I can get the new seal in. A Google search suggests it's obvious once the drive is out but there is certainly no where for it go in from the back and from the Speedo cable side (where I was able to Remove a bit of seal) it will never fit. Im sure this will make sence to someone who has done it . So in short how do I get the Speedo drive oil seal in ?
