Just fitted a new ignition module to my 92 4.0 and started fine, went to garage for petrol, filled up went to start, started to turn over then a bang, and nothing. No electrics at all. Ten minutes later the power came on and tried to start and nothing, all electrics lost again. Any ideas whats wrong? I believe there is no main 100a fuse is there?

Your correct no 100 amp fuse. If you have just replaced the ignition module i would look at that, theres lots of rubbish about.

Hi Andy
there is an Fuse ...have a look underneath the car , behind the Starter or in front of the Starter is the Fuse 100 - 125 A.
-->
mine is 98 Griff500 but i think, all Models are the same.
Tipp -> sometimes the Fuse looks good , but it is!
Check it..good luck

Aha, no 100 amp fuse. But that wouldn't stop it starting even if you did have one, as it is between battery and alternator.
Is there an 80 amp fuse on an early Griff, in a fuse holder, in a thick brown cable that is in the spaghetti lying on top of the battery?
If there is, that could be your culprit. As to why it has gone, that could be related to the thing you changed

Yes I know, this is the third or fourth since last november, but have just fitted an original two pin (UK manufactured) lucas one, so fingers crossed it will all be sorted now. My assumption that any misfire was due to the ignition amp may have been down to the poor connection on the starter motor. Any more problems and its down to Lloyds for the Canems solution!
