And the name please sir?
Discussion
Currently sat in the local curry shop waiting for a delicious large and hopefully very tasty takeaway.
I've noticed whilst people watching that when the customers come and collect their pre ordered takeaways, they alway use their first name to order and collect. I always use my last name when booking a table or ordering a curry.
Not that it's the most pressing subject in the world, but just out of curiosity would you use first name or surname? I suppose there's no wrong or right. But which name do they want when they say 'and what's the name sir?'

I'm old school. Bookings are under my surname.
My first and last names are the same, so sometimes I use my first name and sometimes my second, they know who I am.And is that pronounced 'ch', 'ty', or 'ts'?
I avoid all that crap and just use my title.

My wife orders using her first name, I then have to go in and pick it up, claiming to be her!
