Read a book the other day by a journo called Tony Thompson (I think... short memory!)

It was all about the massive gangs and the smaller local gangs that do all the money laundering and the drug running etc.

Most of these people were utterly ruthless. Do the BiB here ever feel threatened that if they cross a gang member (which I am sure you must do!) that your family and yourself may be in danger? A lot of the gangs leave the police to it but some of them....

I used to work a city centre pro-active team and used to deal with gang members and their 'bosses'.

There's always a concern about personal safety...but that's the price you pay for doing the job.

I think when you make it 'personal' problems start.

There is thankfully still a good tradition that if you mess with a cop's family, then you can 'get ready'!

Dunno, these days they will probably just park a safety camera van outside your house...
