Can anyone help me out. I have forgoton to bring my Lotus Manual to work and need to get a new Headlight bulb as last night I noticed one side only had sidelights on. Does anyone know what type of bulb I need for an S1 111S??? Also is it a simple 5 min job to replace (as on most cars) or am I going to be at it all night? (so to speak) :-)

Thanks

Rich

H4. I use Philips VisionPlus because they're visibly brighter than standard. Replace both at the same time, being careful not to touch the bulbs with your bare hands.

Ok, assume I just change the headlight bulb and leave the sidelights as they are? Is access through the bonnet?

No, through the handy bulb replacement panels in the wheel arch lining. Turn the wheel to full lock, and then you'll have easy access to one side. Pull the massive rubber bung out of the wheel arch liner, scuff your knuckles pinch your fingers and swear a bit until the bulb holder comes out, replace the bulb and reverse the procedure. Turn the steering wheel to full lock in the opposite direction and repeat the procedure. It should take no more than 20 mins (including injury time).

Did mine last week. Bought Osram Silver Stars from Powerbulbs.com

You might be wise to borrow a vanity mirror off a girl reason being that there is a sprung clip holding the bulb in - looks like an inverted Omega shape. Easy to do if you know what you are doing however I found it impossible to see round the corner!
