I am not used to fixing my own cars, but have a toolbox, as I own a TVR.
The rubber auxiliary belt on my wfe's ML diesel has just snapped. I can get a new belt this afternoon. Any tips on fitting it please?

It is very easy job to do, the only thing you will need if you doing the job of your own is a pin to hold in place the tensioner pulley. I believe that in your handbook you should have the the diagram showing the route of the belt.
Step by step: Actually you need only the first two steps biggrin

Brilliant, many thanks. It is actually similar in principal to my TVR, just everything is located differently. That article is excellent. I don't even need to remove the old belt - it removed itself!! laugh

I shall tackle it this evening, between erecting a gazebo for my wife and feeding the horses.

Forget the ML and the horse, make sure that the gazebo is correctly erected biggrin otherwise you will sleep in the dog house biggrin

On a serious note I am sure that it will take you between 10 and 12 min top. The last time I've done this was about 3 months ago and from open the bonnet to close was less than 5 min...but I've done it before so it was straight forward job.

Too right! The gazebo will be right outside the back of the house and is her winter smoking quarters.....

Done the other two. Cannot do the ML. Not got the star/hex key sockets I need. About time I did have a set, so will go get some tomorrow. Wife can borrow my A8 tomorrow.
