Is there a manual way to eject cd cartridge?

Today my 997 cd cartridge won't eject. It started failing to read the discs yesterday, and after another attempt at cleaning the discs and putting them back in, they now won't eject.

They were original not copies or mp3's. the correct way up and cartridge in correct way.

I read of something where you use '148 code'? Is this just pressing the numbers together for a reset of some sort?

Any help appreciated.

Yes, you could try pressing 1, 4 & 8 together to reboot the PCM. It depends what's actually wrong, but it sorts out some problems.

You could also look for a tiny hole that most CD players / CD changers have that allow you to use a paperclip or something similar to eject. I don't have a CD changer any more so can't check, but gotta be worth a look.
