Hi all, very long time no post
I'm trying to track down my old MX5 with the registration H170 KRD. DVLA tells me it was last taxed until December last year. I don't suppose anyone here has ended up with it?

Not seen hide nor hair at my MX5 haunts. I would remember an early one. If its untaxed and not scrapped which it might well be then maybe an enquiry on PH, Ebay or Gumtree will elicit a response from the owner. Good luck to you.I'm trying to track down my old MX5 with the registration H170 KRD. DVLA tells me it was last taxed until December last year. I don't suppose anyone here has ended up with it?

Thanks, will be putting an ad up on those suggestions shortly.
Got rid of it for a Fiesta to be sensible as me and my other half where buying a place. The Fiesta ended up costing more than the MX5 did in 4 years, it was then followed by an E36 compact that lunched its gearbox and then a Ford Puma which went from immaculate to rot box in the space of 18 months :-(
Have also put a request up on mx5nutz and the owners club

Japanese cars are consistently the best for longevity. Look at the African experience and what workhorses sell over there? Japanese. They are a bit grey and plastic but by God they are reliable. Puma (like the earlier Ka and Fiesta derivatives) are all rot boxes. Old BMW's will shred their transmission. Good luck with your next buy. Running old cars cost money Japanese are cheaper every time. The MX5 has that virtue and its fun!Got rid of it for a Fiesta to be sensible as me and my other half where buying a place.
