couple of Questions with my Boxster-I've had for 6 Wks. now!

Hi All,
Having owned my 2011 Boxster 987 (GEN 2) for the last 6 weeks or so,
I have two issues with the car; The Porsche Centre I got it from has got me a little confused. So I would welcome any other owmers opinions!
1) The car has the "Bluetooth Preparation", I've got my iPhone and radio linked up, but the Car will not access my contacts on my iPhone. I am told this is normal! -Strange
2) "Daytime driving lights " if this is activated (on) via the Cars computer, All the lights( Headlights and Rear lights) come on when the car is running, surely just the LED front only sidelight's should light up otherwise what's the point!
Other than that I am well pleased with the car, it's a well built car, that can be used every day, unlike my previous sports cars I've had in the past. Cheers Phil

Your PCM (the sat nav) software version needs to be a minimum of v2.23 for the Iphone contacts to work correct.

On the Turbo this is a recall and should be done free of charge by the Garage.
When the daytime running lights are activated, the front LED strips should come on and also a single red LED strip at the rear on both clusters, anything else and something is amiss, talk to the Garage.

I have a 2011 Boxster S (Gen2), the daytime running lights on my car are only on the front - and they are different to the front side-lights. (I also have the Bi-Xenon headlamps).
No problems with the phone, it works on my basic Samsung, but I only have the phone connection, not the full sat-Nav package. I hardly ever use it though, especially over the last few months when the roof has been down ...

I went through this with my OPC. The daytime running lights on a 2011 Cayman are as follows (pages 50/51 of the manual):
With Bi-Xenon Headlights: Only the LED lights integrated into the front auxiliary headlights come on
With Halogen Headlights: When daytime driving lights are acti9vated, dipped beam is switched on.
There does not appear to be any way for the OPC's to reprogram cars with halogen lights to use the LED strips for daytime driving.

Much appreciated your replies to my questions. I have concluded that to have the "daytime running lights on" the front only, the car has to have Bi-Xenon Headlights fitted as an optional extra when New!
In addition, as my car does not have Sat. Nav. Fitted as standard, I do not think I will get the contacts off the iPhone to work through the radio.
I will have to double check again with the local PC whether my PCM/Radio needs to have a memory upgrade?
