Is it possible to have sky without a landline?
I've seen mixed answers online.

Not once in 3 years have I connected my box to a landline.

I can't remember if I needed a landline to join however.

These days it is yes, but only a single box. If you want more than one box the contract T's and C's state the boxes must be connected to a fixed, working landline.

Wot she said. Single box is fine, multiple boxes need it to prove they are all on the same network.

Then unless it is especially agreed with Sky, then double check what they are being billed.

They could be being billed x 3

This is the answer & it's to stop neighbours etc sharing the feed. Sounds stupid, but it does happen quite a lot and yes I have seen it!

Back in the early days of cable TV, the percentage of pubs taking 2 boxes was over 90%. One box upstairs, one in the "bedroom" - normally with about 20m of cable left behind "in case the wife wants it in a different bedroom......".

I've had Sky for 8 years here & never had it connected to a phone line. It does mean I can't order Box Office stuff though. Saying that, it is connected to the internet now via the Wi-Fi box so maybe I can?

Yep. If your box has done an update recently then you will be able to use the 'on Demand' store with you box connected to the Internet and not a phone line.

This. Get the Sky+ app on your tablet (it's really good) - that means that you can browse listings and set recordings when plugged into your wifi network - and the tablet/phone works as a remote too. Phoneline not required.

Cheers chaps - couple of teething errors (kept turning the Sky box off while the OH was watching it) but other than that it's a fantastic app.

Sky get a lot of st, but they are very good 99% of the time.
