E-type missing timing gear washer

Hello chaps.

I have now inspected the 4.2 XK lump in my 64 E-type. Upon taking apart the timing gear the following washer broke (lower timing gear).




Now for the life of me I cannot find this anywhere to buy or any reference that it exists. The closest I can find from the catalogue is C30075 which doesn't appear correct now I have it in my hand.

Can anyone ID this annoying washer so I can get the thing back together?

ETA its a very late 64 - engine is a 4.2.

Cheers DBS. I have been looking at the same part. I am gradually coming to the conclusion that the broken washer did not belong there. I am going to rebuild it as per the SNG diagram.

I've just had a look in the official service manual for the Mk2 and cross referenced it with the diagram from an E Type workshop manual.

Both diagrams are identical and they both show two 'star washers' fitted second to last, one each onto the guide pins that go through the timing gear front bracket in your photo. I don't see any other star washers in the diagram though.

Go to an engineering shop or decent car accessory shop and get a shake proof washer of the correct size, it doesn't need to be a specific Jaguar one. If you are that worried then Loctite the nut in place.
