Steering Rack Tie rod broken!
Discussion
Last weekend I had the misfortune of hitting a pot hole and breaking my nearside tie rod off at the knuckle. fortunately no other damage was done.
I ordered what I thought was the right one from TVR Power, went to fit it only to discover that it was different. Power does not stock the type for my rack which is an early manual rack with a large male thread on the end and the tie rods are pre load adjustable with a locknut and can be dismantled unlike the more common type.
Is anyone familliar with this type of rack and which car the tie rods come from or where to get new ones?

Recently looked into this matter since I've noticed some play in my manual steering. What I found out so far there is an earlier and a later version of the manual rack. The earlier version is adjustable but tie rods are no longer available. The later version has tie rods with a diameter of 33.5 mm which are still available - probably the ones you received but don't fit on the earlier version. Perhaps get a tie rod remanufactured by a decent machine shop?
