Guys - Have only just now been able to compose myself to write this; took the dog for a walk this morning and on returning through the garage I turned to admire "Anne" in all her glory only to see the below tragic injury. I know it happened in the last 24 hours as I have photographic evidence of a clean and pristine bonnet lip.

My question that I am opening to you all is; what is the best course of action to remedy this?

I see my options as the following but open to more-

1. Bonnet needs full repair and respray - in Aberdeen so no local AM dealer
2. Get a mobile dent firm to try and "un-dent" it then a touch up pen.
3. Get it a local dent repair company to repair and touch it up.
4. Start a new trend by covering it with a PHer sticker!!!

Need your help on this as my usual grin when I gaze at her has diminished today.

Sorry to see the damage!

I have seen some proper boulders on the roads up here recently!!

If a deny guy can get to it then they're worth a try. Speak to Polished Bliss for a recommendation on the chap they use. He's exceptional.

If you elect to get it repaired and painted then Kinghorn are very good. They have done my 911 and our DB6 for a wee sod of a stonechip that flaked away about a 5p sized piece of paint. Kevin there is the chap to speak to.

Finally, there is Warren Dunbar at North East Autobody. I've put a couple of my modern 911's to him in the past as well as my race car. He's currently in the middle of doing a ground up resto of a local multi multi millionaire's E-type which speaks volumes as the car could be sent anywhere in the world yet he chose Warren.

Good luck with the repair. I would be interested to hear what route you take.

Agreed. I've had a dent guy do some work for me in the past. Truly magic what some of them can do.
Just be glad the paint is relatively intact, I got one that took a out. frown

Not so sure I've used a few on old cars
They don't like aluminium or dents on sharp direction changes
Worth a look before repair and respray though
Feel lucky it wasn't a few inches higher that would have made a right mess of the windscreen and the drivers seat!

That must have been one hell of a stone! As there is a double layer of skin on the leading edge of DB9 bonnets I don't think a dent doctor will be much use. I'm not an expert, but it looks like a fill and respray job is needed. When bubbling on the leading edge of the bonnet on my Titanium DB9 was sorted out the (AM approved) paint shop only sprayed the colour coat along the leading edge, followed by clear coat on the whole of the bonnet. It cost me £640 as AM coughed up 33% to sort out the paint bubbling on the bonnet and driver's door.

I had a similar dent only much worse.....dent guy refused to touch it.....in the end my local body shop had to drill a hole (double skinned at that point) and knock it out from behind and then paint it.....6 hours labour but it's perfect now

James B - Thanks so much for the quick response.

I have spoken to PB and it is Martin at Dent Devils who they use, just spoke to him and I am going to send him some photo's. His initial thoughts are shouldn't be a problem as I described two holes under the bonnet about 1" & 5" away from it that he can get to it from.

My current course of action will be to first get the dent removed and then either try to touch it in myself or get it professionally touched up. If it looks OK then I will leave it at that, if not then it will (and only every would have been) be a visit to Kinghorn.

I can vouch for Kinghorn. When I was working up there, some clown at a tyre fitter drove my CSL into a wall. Kinghorn put it all back together.

IIRC, there are/were Porsche, Mercedes & JLR approved.

Have you had your car parked up anywhere? As that doesn't look like a stone, it looks like a dent from someone hitting you. If that was a stone you would hear it in the cabin - would sound like you just knocked over a horse wearing clogs.

Either way, if it doesn't knock out just fill over it and get a smart repair for a few hundred pounds.

No Recommendations of any companies to use, but I watched this only recently. Probably one of the best explained videos on the subject that I have seen.

Also the other videos by Larry are pretty good in my opinion.
