I remember the on stage collapse but I didn't know he was battling a tumour. RIP, very sad.

I didn't like their music but wouldn't wish that on anyone. A friend of mine died of a brain tumour in Feb she battled hard and didn't deserve to die like that. Horrible

I first met Jon Brooks in the late 80's through Martin, I was bass tech for Mart for a couple of support gigs with the Stone Roses.
He was very approachable and engaging, down to earth and not the least bit rock star about him.
I was asked by Martin to join the band as a drummer in 1987 when they were called the Gift Horses, a few months later the changed their name to The Charlatans, I last saw them at Le mans 2006. Great band, great drummer, RIP chap.
