I saw this posted elsewhere and thought it deserved wider attention – it’s for this Sunday

plus it sounds like a nice day out too

please note the contact is Claire not me, thanks

'Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some car owners to bring their cars to display on Sunday 18th August (1-3 o'clock for display) ......

I work for a company called Ashmere Care Homes (Nottingham) which is a site of 3 care homes specialising in the care of the young physically disabled, dementia and elderly.

We have recently renovated our gardens so decided to celebrate by holding and self funding a community garden party to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The event is on Sunday August 18th at 1-4 o'clock - address is Ashmere Sutton Court, Priestsic Road, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire NG17 2AH

The event includes:
live entertainment, Punch & Judy, bouncy castle, funfair games, BBQ, stalls etc., the whole event is totally free and we are raising money by having a grand raffle with some great prizes donated.

We really wanted to have about 10 cars on show but everyone we have tried has been unable to help or wanted several hundred pounds. I'm afraid I've already exceeded the budget I had set so can only offer free food, drinks and ice cream... & of course families are all welcome, there’s lots for kids to do.

So, to summarise, I've now only got two confirmed car coming which I’m sure you'll agree isn't much of a display!

Can anyone help (even for just an hour or so) by coming down with their cars?

For anyone wanting more details, contact either Claire (me) or Duncan (I only work part-time as am a new mum) on 01623441130

Any help would be appreciated, kind regards
Claire Sharpe'

really, no body (?)

idea perfect excuse to take your car for a run and treat your partner to a relaxed day out, win a few raffle prizes then a country roads drive home via a lovely country pub

or you could do the chores instead (? really you can't get out of them with this as the alternative) rotate

Guys,

I am afraid to say that I don't think we are going to be able to make it on this occasion. If anything changes though we'll try to make it for 13:00.
Good luck tomorrow.

That's a shame as I have only just read the thread and would have come over in my TVR T350C. Not that special but rather nice and loud ;-]
Hope it all goes well for you guys.

er, it's a care home so loud might not be appropriate but you could still visit
