Transforaminal epidural

I'm currently pain free having had this procedure done 3 weeks ago.
My right leg is often completely numb, but I'd rather have that than the serious pain requiring an ambulance call out that started all this.
I guess my concern is that the benefits of this epidural will fade in a few weeks.
What was your experience? Was it a one time procedure and then you were fixed?
