Guys,

Had to take my 7500 mile C250 CDi back to dealer as it hasn't been driving great.

Felt like it was in ECO mode when coming to a stop even with ECO off. Hesitation on applying throttle and generally changing slow.
Basically felt like chopping it in.

However, on hearing from the dealer, I was told that there were factory Engine ECU and Gearbox ECU upgrades that needed to be applied.

Driving back, the hesitation seems to have gone and the gear shifts are tighter and feel quicker. Obviously, at the end of the day its a diseasel so miles away from the C63 and you can still count to 10 between shifts in Manual mode.banghead

Concerns are when would the dealer have told me about the factory upgrade?

Best bet, if you have a W204 C Class then I'd check with dealer at the next service...

interesting to hear this, we have a E250 CDI 13 plate, the girl changes in Eco is dreadful, Sport not much better, when accelerating hard and then left to cruise, it seems to hang onto gears much longer than necessary, can be jerky under hard accelerating with the gearshifts. Never had this kind of issue with our previous E320 CDI.

How are you on power? After downsizing, I'm finding it slower. Thinking of a remap to make it shift

My E250 13 also does this.

It's going in for a service Friday (32k) so I'll get them to look at it.

To be honest, I am regretting dropping the C63 full stop. However, the 45mpg is a bonus.

Does pick up and go when it wants to but everything seems to take a while to get there, gear shifts included.

Was looking at getting the C250 CDi chipped but the general concensus is that the 250 is a tuned version of the 220 so chipping will have very limited change...

Contemplating test driving the C350 CDi but I know deep down I lust after another V8... frown

The question is how the hell did you do 32,000 miles in 6 months. I have had mine since December 2009 and its got only 24,500 miles on the dash. I wish I drove to work.

My 07 E220 (Bought from new) had 460k!

I asked the service guy at Mercedes and he said they are supposed to hold the revs because the ECU is assuming you'll be accelerating again.
