997 GT3 - is it too harsh for Sunday morning goons?

Will be in the market in the later part of the year for some pork.
Have always lusted for a GT3 and enjoyed driving one at the Porsche experience Silverstone on their short track.
In reality it will be a weekend car with some daily use thrown in. I suspect an occasional track day, once or twice a year, perhaps more if I get the time and the bug.
My question then is, is the GT3 too much for the Sunday morning blast? Is it an enjoyable car for this kind of driving on country lane twisters?
Also considering the Cayman S, but wonder if I bought one whether I would regret not getting a 911 especially when considering the price tag of a well spec'd Cayman versus what else you can get for the same money.

+1Also don't underestimate its abilities as a longer jaunt tool...6hrs in the saddle worked a treat last week.

Agree that using it every day dilutes the experience.
I use mine for commuting (in the recent hot weather) but only because my journey to work is 20 miles of country roads and I leave home early enough to beat the traffic. I guess if your commute involves a lot of stop-start traffic it would not be much fun.
As for a weekend use its perfect! Just starting it up and feeling the car vibrate feels good. The gearbox is reluctant when cold but you dont mind this because you know when its warm its like a hot knife though butter. I guarantee, the first time you take it out for a proper hard run, hear the engine sing and feel the chassis moving around underneath you it will be love!
Then when you get home, if you are anything like me you will just stare at it with a grin on your face.
