Anyone had their pre cat sleeved and got a video? not sure I want to go the whole hog so would probably leave the wadding in the box, but interested in a bit more noise

I think you'll find you just remove the pre-cats although ACT do a nice de-pre-catted set of manifolds.

Rich,
No cats in a precat. Assuming its the rear silencer box beng referred to. SHould increase noise but cherry bombs are another option.

Sorry, brain fade moment. I blame increasing years and the noise!

Yep rear silencer box FFG, I've got a mechanic who handy with the welder so toying with sleeved or straight through, just dont want i to run like a dog afterwards!

Seen the cherry bomb video on youtube and they sound cloud9 but it will cost a bit more than sleeving I guess

I had the Offord conversion done on my 4.3 pre-cat ... and lets just say it was loud, and very ummmm loud especially on start up you couldn't hear a conversation whilst standing next to the car... had to go about 20ft away..... I loved it until the exhaust disintegarted....

Went with ACT cherry bomb after that which I like smile

Hi Hoover, is the Offord mod essentially sleeved?

The Offord mod is sleeved back box but with the wadding left in I understand. If you are thinking of sleeving it sounds much better IMO with the wadding left in.

Your Pre-cat does sound good Hoover.

Here is a video from the Growl 2012. I believe this is with the ACT Cherry Bomb back box? Nice flame from the exhust at 1:10 wink

Very nice Hoover, I think I'm going to give it a go, sleeved-with-wadding then report back! worse case I can revert back to standard if its too loud.... is that possible? ;-)

I've gone a little over the top since then, full de-cat as well.
Inside the car it sounds ok. No problem for me on long journeys but it's bloody loud outside the car.
This is it now. Mic wasn't able to deal with the volume so doesn't give a true representation.
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but it would be a boring world if everyone liked the same thing!

Souding good Dave, I like the fact it sounds "rawer" with the sleeves and cats out and the extra noise is a real bonus, better for road safety too wink I've got a mate with a V8 E30 BMW & that is bloody loud eek

Whoa that's loud! had a busy evening getting a scowl in the local shop car park and making someone else crossing the road jump out of the way!!!

Think I'll live with it for a few weeks & if its too much get one of my mates exhaust valves which gives straight-thru or normal at the touch of a button.

Video to follow
